Here in Texas, Wind Energy Transmission Texas, LLC is proud to be leading a contributor to the state’s economy by building the transmission lines that will deliver West Texas wind to urban areas of the state. We will make significant contributions to the communities in which we will build, operate and maintain wind power transmission lines by directly creating jobs to help construct and to operate these transmission lines.
 

 

The Benefits

Some of the direct and indirect benefits created by the CREZ transmission investment program include:

• Locally based, near term construction jobs and permanent operating jobs
• Follow on opportunities for local restaurants, hotels, entertainment establishments and construction subcontractors
• Increased property tax revenues
• Further investment in wind, which leads to additional construction and operating jobs, royalty income for landowners and payment of property taxes
• More cost effective, clean, renewable electricity for Texans that will maintain Texas’ leading position in US wind generation
• A meaningful step towards energy independence
